Were Chronicles Q&A

Last month for my blog here at hitting the hot spot I revealed some secrets about the Were Chronicles world. I really enjoyed the emails that I received from that post.

This month I ran a contest where readers and fans could submit questions they wanted answered during this blog post. I was very pleased by the response! I took the most popular questions and ran with it.

I also want to take a moment to Thank everyone who submitted questions and answered the contest. The contest winner Ashley C.  will receive a $25.00 gift card from Amazon for participating.

The Were Chronicles were my first step into the world of writing series books. In all honesty I could never have imagined it would be so well received.

And each and every one of you is to Thank. Without the readers, editors, cover artists, and publisher I would never be primed to release three more Were Chronicles books this year. So a big hug and a kiss go out to you!

Were Chronicles Q&A

Q1. How many Were Chronicles books will there be?

A1. I hate starting with a question that I can’t answer completely but this was the number one question I received. For my answer all I can say is that there will be more books. As many books as we need to see the Packs through going public and finding their mates. Three more books will be released in 2013 for certain. The next three books after that have been outlined.

Q2. Will we see any of the old Alphas’s and Mates appear in future books?

A2. Absolutely! They wouldn’t be the Were Chronicles if we didn’t get to go back and see our favorites. As a matter of fact in the next three installations you see older characters pop up for offer help as the new Packs deal with coming out to the world.

Q3. Will there be other types of shifters stories in the future?

A3. Yes, there will be other shifters in the Were Chronicles. They must work together to overcome the challenges of going public.

*NOTE* There are exciting things coming through the Were Chronicles. Felines, Bird, Bear, and other shifters. There will be more on these other shifters very soon. I promise.

Q4. Will there be other shifters who cannot shift?

A4. Yes, in book eight you will learn a little more about what Gage and Marisa have been working on while they have been quiet. Gage has several scenes in book 8.

Q5. Will a shifter ever mate with a human?

A5. Yes! I know you have been waiting for it. In book eight the main female character is human.

Q6. Will the Were Chronicles move to other countries?

A6. I’m not sure. I would love to see more about the Packs all over the world. I have been some research and I think it is possible but right now that is up in the air.

These were all great questions and again Thank you everyone for getting involved in my blog project.

The Were Chronicles have been the subject for the last several months due to the fact that so much is going on with them. We will have three more ebooks releases with the first one being released for Pre-Order next month!!!

Erotica and You by Lily Harlem

Today I thought I'd share my thoughts on the external benefits of reading erotic romance - in other words not just the pleasure of immersing oneself in fantasy with big, hot, raring-to-go hunks, but whether or not it improves individual's sex lives and spices up bedroom time.

Certainly I believe introducing eroticism into the bedroom in the form of literature can only be beneficial, it gets you in the mood, gives you ideas and heightens the awareness of all things sexy - including your partner who, lets face it, can occasionally be neglected.

I say this because I did a secret bit of research recently on a friend who was an unwitting guinea pig - still is. She loves her man very much, they have been together for years, but she was finding that when it came to playing 'hide the sausage' it just wasn't happening for her, she wasn't up for it, the desire just not there - luckily she likes to talk, a lot, especially after a glass of wine.

In a totally separate conversation, we went on to chat about what books we were reading. At this point I confessed that I'd just re-read The Story of OShe however told me she was reading some awful zombie story. It was all horror, gore and suspense. I say awful because to me that sort of story is awful, and certainly not my choice of bed-time reading. No, I like to snuggle down with heart-stoppingly gorgeous men and wonderfully romantic and sexy tales spinning around my head, not blood and guts spilling out all over the place and wondering what every bump and bang in the house is at night - but that's just me.

Anyway, being a bit bossy, which I'm afraid I am, I told her that her reading material may well be the root of her libido problem. At which point she topped up our wine and said, "Go on." I pointed out that it was logical, if you're stressed and wound up as you go to sleep, wondering if that zombie is going to come and get you (doesn't help that she lives in a creepy old farmhouse that dates back two hundred years) then how are you going to feel in the mood for a bit of fun. For her this was like a revelation, for me it was common sense (told you I'm bossy!!!).

I set her a challenge to just read books I recommended for the next month to see if she would feel able to make the switch from fleecy pyjamas to satin nightie!

All the time I was being very scientific- well, no, not really but there you go - and I started off with gentle romances with a bit of action and when she said how much she enjoyed them I upped the heat level. Giving her stories with much more graphic sex scenes and a sprinkle of kink.

Before long she was texting me to say how much she was enjoying the books, she was neglecting her day time chores to read and getting through my paperback collection at a rate of knots.

Time to ply her with wine again...

Sure enough, she was soon telling me about the naughtiness her and hubby had been up to the night before, not loads of details but enough to make her blush and for me to know that my experiment had been a success. "I'm going to have to get a Kindle," she said. "So people can't see the covers of what I'm reading!"

So in conclusion I would say that yes, reading erotic novels of any heat level can increase your sex-drive. And one of the most poignant things my friend said was that as she was reading all of these books, thinking about the dashing heroes and the sex and emotions, when actually, she had a hero of her own, lying right next to her, she just had to grab what was hers and make herself the star of her own erotic novel!!

Do share your thoughts, I would love to know if anyone else has done any serious studies on this matter!

What's Not To Love About A Sexy Cowboy Dom...?

Shhhh. Don’t tell my gentleman friend I have a thing for cowboys!

I was born in England, and I remember watching old Westerns on the “telly” with my grandfather, John Kelly. He'd have a Guinness and sit in his rocking chair, and I’d sit on the floor with while John Wayne swaggered onto the screen.

When I learned we were moving to the States, I already knew what I would find. After all, Colorado wasn’t just in America, it was in the Wild West. There would be dirt roads and covered wagon. Women would wear long gowns. A sherrif’s badge would gleam in the sun. There’d be horses and corrals, maybe a shootout. Men would have six-shooters strapped to their legs. Saloons would play bawdy music.

The men would wear jeans and dust-covered boots. There was even sure to be a Wanted poster about.

Imagine my shock when I got off the plane, into a car, and passed a shopping mall.

Even though the West wasn't quite what I expected, meeting real live cowboys definitely did!

I dated a cowboy for a while. More than anything, I have to admit, I remember the hat!

The summer after I got my driver’s license was a magic one. My best friend was a barrel racer. I spent many days going to rodeos with her. And I’d stay in the stands after she’d loaded her horse in the trailer and driven off.

We’d go to dances each weekend, and I recall many fabulous days of watching rodeos at Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming.

Ever since that magical summer, I have loved cowboys. When I wrote for Silhouette, I penned a number of books that featured ranchers and cowboys as heroes, and I rediscovered my love of hunky men in Wrangler jeans. I love their manners, their ties to the land, the way they care and nurture others--especially their women.

So my latest book from Total-E-Bound, Over The Line, was a natural fit. What could be better than a cowboy who’s also a Dom? Lordy, Lordy!

Not only does Master Michael Dalton wear a sexy hat and tight jeans, he knows how to use rope.

Our heroine, Sydney, a world traveler, has her jet-setting, adventurous life turned upside down by a man with roots deep in the land (oh, yeah, and a crazy, crazy undersized goat!).

For a woman who doesn’t like to be tied down, Master Michael certainly ties her up. I invite you to get Mastered…where your wildest fantasies come true…

Would you do him?

By now almost everyone who has access to an internet news page knows who Edward Snowden is. The lowly IT guy who blew the whistle on many covert programs of the United States government is -- as of this writing, anyway -- somewhere in the depths of an airport in Moscow, waiting to see which country will take him in.

I can tell you there are more than a few women out there who would love to take Mr. Snowden in. In every way imaginable.

That's because he's a handsome and intelligent man who happens to be a bad boy to the nth degree. This is type of bad boy that reminds me of geeks and hackers, those too-smart-for-their-own-good men who do naughty things for principle and justice...or just because they can. They have attitude that says they are good enough to pull it off, they know it, and they know that you know it. It's a hot intellectual swagger.

Maybe I have a bit of a crush on Edward Snowden.

All my life, I have been attracted to the stable, secure, responsible men who seemed like excellent husband material. That's what I thought I wanted. But then I fell in love with a man who was a bad boy to the extreme, and guess what? He turned out to be the most excellent husband material indeed. So you never know, do you?

I do know this: My thoughts on geeks and hackers and the Snowdens of the world have changed. The older and more responsible I get, the more I admire those who take a leap of faith in themselves and pull off something fantastically jaw-dropping. It's an attraction to the mind, sure. But it's also the big question that is always in the back of my mind when I see or meet or hear about someone like that:

What are they like in bed?

It's been reported that Snowden boasted of sex marathons from dusk to dawn, and that his favorite post-coital snack was Krispy Kreme donuts. Now, the sex marathons sound lovely. But the donuts? Oh, my. The man knows what he's doing. Krispy Kreme donuts are orgasms for your mouth.

This information about Snowden is enough to let me know that he would be fantastic in bed. And if I were not happily attached, I would fuck the daylights out of him.

Then tell him to get me a Krispy Kreme.

So tell me: Would you? Inquiring minds want to know!

Cheers,
Gwenny

A Little Time Away...

So, first let me apologize for neglecting my blog slot over here on Hitting the Hot-Spot. The past six months have gone by in a flurry of madness and I can honestly say my characters have helped me keep my sanity!

I was thrilled when my sister invited to Seattle for a visit! I'm truly a homebody, but I attempted to pack for eight days away from home. The first time I've ever been away so long.

Eight full days...

No kids.

No husband.

Just me and my sister enjoying one another's company and a little time away from our normal routines. The first few days felt strange. No one wanting or needing my attention. Just me and my own thoughts.

Sound peaceful?

Ha! My mind is always going, going, going! No, seriously...it was peaceful once I allowed myself to relax and just enjoy my time away from home. Well, I just returned from the gorgeous and uncharacteristically sunny Emerald City a few hours ago!

I got a gorgeous shot of Mt. Rainier from my seat on the plane!
I was sad to leave my sister, but I truly missed my family. As I walked through O'Hare to retrieve my bag, I realized getting away is something we all need.

A chance to recharge...regroup and revitalize one's soul. Time away is often the best way to get back and bring back the very best YOU for your loved ones.

I have lots of exciting TEB news to share soon!

Much love,

Nichelle Gregory

Summer Writing

Summer is typically a time when the kids are out of school, camps abound, recreational events are at their highlight, and sun and surf are the order of the day. Most writers I know view summertime with a groan because it usually means less writing time. Is this true with you? I mean, there are vacations, visits to long lost relatives, and kids to entertain.

For me, I've looked forward to summers because it means I can stay indoors more often as I loathe the heat. Wait, it's a bit more detailed than that. It's not the heat so much, but I don't like the way the weather makes me sweat and feel like a damp rag (as opposed to the direct result of fun between the sheets).

Naturally, being indoors means more opportunities at the computer to write.

In June, all looked well for me to be able to write eight or more hours a day if I wanted. That's what I'd counted on, actually.

Ha!

This summer is proving to be a writing challenge. Despite all my plans, I am not able to write the stellar amount of time I'd wished. Even though we aren't gone everyday, I have to plan for said events. Even though the kids are old enough to be relatively self-sufficient, I have to make sure they eat and play nice and answer the myriad of questions they bounce my way. And I still find myself impatiently waiting for bedtime when just about everyone will leave me alone so I can knock out a couple thousand words for the day.

So no, my summer is not producing the writing I'd wished for, but all is not lost.

When my hard-to-write summer started to drag me down, I joined up with Camp NaNoWriMo for the month. Similar to the big one in November, you set a goal (words) to write and then...you do it. I tried this in the spring and completely bombed. This time however, it's going great. With other authors there encouraging you on - and you doing the same for them - it's like one big writing orgy.

I'm only hoping this determination and goal setting will carry on, long after this month goes by.

What about you? Does summer time mean you have to adjust your writing plans, and if you do, how's it going this year?

Stay cool,
Ayla

About bright girls - and the Heimlich Manoeuvre

Eva Byrne, the leading lady in The Dark Side trilogy is a bright girl. Off the scale bright. She's what the educational machine used to call 'profoundly gifted' (what a ridiculous label) but is nowadays known as 'highly able'. Lots of people are highly able. It's not just about academic talent, it could be sport, the arts, a combination. But, as Eva knows very well, emotional intelligence trumps the lot. If you can't form relationships that work, more or less, most of the time at least, life is a lonely carry on.

But enough on that. I'll save my thoughts on loneliness for another day. Back to the plot.

In my zeal to make myself useful I joined the Board of governors at my daughter's secondary school, and somehow ended up as the lead governor for 'gifted and talented' - another education label. This means I get to go along and talk to the teacher in charge of cultivating said talents and gifts. And that's how I found myself in a broom cupboard office one wet Tuesday morning, drinking staffroom tea and listening to a very nice PE teacher explaining how she did her best but there was no money to spend, etc. etc. In fairness, she was impressive, and she knew her stuff.

So do I, and I felt I should at least explain why I'd been researching this issue. So I explained about having written The Dark Side the previous year, and that the story hinges around emotional intelligence, relationships, and the highly able. She was impressed. An author! She offered me a biscuit. I declined.

She asked me, naturally enough, to tell her more about the book. So I did. I told her it was a grittier, more realistic twist on the Fifty Shades theme, set in the UK. Lots of sexy scenes, lots of spanking. Had she read Fifty Shades, I asked politely? Then I ducked as a mouthful of staffroom tea and digestive biscuit shot across the desk. It missed me, but unfortunately the rather tired looking yucca plant behind me copped the lot. But Miss Gifted and Talented was puce. Obviously not all the tea had been ejected. Some had gone down the wrong hole. She was choking. I wondered if I might need to thump her between the shoulder blades, or even attempt the Heimlich manoeuvre if I could remember how.

Mercifully it didn't come to that. PE teachers are made of stern stuff and she managed to recover control of her bodily functions after a couple of minutes of gasping and wheezing and frantic coughing. And then, incredibly, she announced that she might like to order a couple of copies of The Dark Side for the school library. I managed to hang on to my tea but advised that any such decision be approached with great caution. It's most definitely not suitable for adolescent boys awash with testosterone. And it'll be an e-book.

She nodded wisely, agreed I was probably right. But I do suspect if it ever emerges in print that the staff room will see a copy or two. Well thumbed. It's all good I suppose, a sale is a sale. And I'm expecting some odd looks at the next governors' meeting.

100th Sunday Snog - Let's Kiss it Better.

Pucker up, something special is coming!

I love a good party and when I noticed that the 100th Sunday Snog was coming up I knew I had to do something special for it.  What is the Sunday Snog? Well it started out as me writing a kissing excerpt up on my blog ever Sunday and has become a blog hop consisting of different authors all sharing different kisses on a Sunday. I love the variety of excerpts it brings in from soft and romantic to cheek reddeningly hot!  All the Sunday Snog goodness can be found here: http://blissekiss.co.uk
I am a big believer in sharing the love, so for the very special part for the 100th snog I wanted to do something that would benefit charity. I ummed and Ahhed for a while over which charity and in the end decided on Médecins Sans Frontières. They do a fantastic job of taking love in a practical way to some of the most needy people in the world. To find out more about their important work check their site: http://www.msf.org.uk/ It’s a fabulous international charity and I really hope we make lots of money for them.  If you’d like to donate to the cause please check out the just giving page for the event:

So, what is the big 100th Sunday Snog event going to be? Well I am hoping to get 100 authors to join in on the 22nd September.  Each author will post up a kissing excerpt on their blog and each author will offer a prize for readers to win. So there will be at least 100 different prizes you could win! How cool is that? We’ll keep the contest open until Friday 27th September, then the winners will be drawn and announced. It’s going to be lots of fun and the biggest Sunday Snog to date.

If you want to join in as an author or a reader all the details are here: http://blissekiss.co.uk/100th

And here’s an example of the kind of kissing excerpts I post up each week. This one comes from Immortal Love realease Literally Bitten

“Right. Where do I start?” He Looked perplexed.

“Well, I just like to browse in hopes of finding something new and unexpected. But I can give you a few recommendations if you like.”

“Yes, please.” The relief in his voice was evident. “I know it sounds silly but I’m feeling a tad intimidated in here.”

“No need for that. I pride myself on the friendliness of my bookshop.”

“Oh, it’s not you, not really. I mean, you’re beautiful and that makes me all tongue-tied and anxious but it’s the books. There’s so many and I don’t know where to start. I don’t want to pick a dud one.”
“Okay, well, here are a few tips. Don’t just go on the front cover. Look at the blurb, the writing on the back. That should give you some idea of what’s in there.” Lily reached up to a shelf, gently brushing past his shoulder, and pulled down a book.

She stood beside him and turned the book over in her hands. “See? But sometimes even the blurb isn’t enough so you need to just have a read of the first few pages, too. So just find yourself a quiet corner and check out anything you like. I like browsers here.”

“Anything I like?” He arched a brow and placed a hand on Lily’s arm, just above her elbow. She gulped, giggled and glanced down at the tips of her slip-on shoes.

“Well, within reason. I don’t have a million quid or a private jet you can borrow.”

“But will you give me a kiss?”

She looked up and met his gaze. His eyes were vivid green and sparkled with bravado and anxiety. The red tint to his cheeks showed that he was not as confident in his flirting as he professed to be.
“What do you think, sir?” She rebounded his questions without twitching a muscle.

“My name’s Thomas. You can call me Tom.”

“Okay, Tom. But my question still stands. Do you think you can get kisses in a bookshop?”

Lily tried really hard not to wink or to smile. She loved watching the indecision flash across his face. She could almost hear his thoughts while he scrabbled to work out whether he should cut and run or push a little bit more.

“I know it’s not what you’d normally expect to get in a bookshop but I couldn’t resist asking. You know, I’ve walked past this shop every weekday for years. Every time I’ve seen you I’ve been bowled over by your beauty. Today was the first day I plucked up enough courage to come in and talk to you.”

“Really?” She couldn’t help smiling. She was certain there wasn’t a woman alive who could resist such a compliment from a young, attractive guy. She was finding herself swayed.

“Really.” He bit his bottom lip, tugged at the lapels of his worn denim jacket and shifted from foot to foot. “But I’m sorry if I’ve overstepped the mark. I didn’t mean to offend you.”
“Oh, Tom, I’m not offended in the slightest. But if I’m giving you a kiss I want something in return.”
“What?”

“Even more kisses.” She moved forward and placed a hand in the centre of his chest. He looked up, smiled hesitantly then moaned as  Lily’s lips hit his with the determination of a woman seduced.

“That won’t be a problem,” Tom gasped when he was allowed to come up for air. “Fuck, you taste so good.”
“Language.” She tutted and playfully tapped his arse. “But thanks all the same.”

Lily threw herself into the new kiss  with great passion. She was aware in the back of her mind that the shop still had the open sign in the window and someone could walk in at any moment but then it gave her more of a thrill than it made her feel nervous. And she was so engrossed in the positive, sexual emotions zinging through her that it was just the smallest niggle that disappeared with every new kiss—it completely evaporated as he ran his hands down to her hips and pulled her closer to him. She could feel his excitement pushing against her through his pants and her black corduroy skirt. She purposefully rubbed against him. Lily was a shy girl by nature but she knew what she wanted and she wanted Tom.

See you on the 22nd September for the 100th Sunday Snog, it’s going to be great. http://blissekiss.co.uk/100th

Hot Excerpt From Uniform Encounters Book Two - Arresting Behaviour

Feeling a little saucy? Fancy a bit of hot man on man action? I thought I would give you a little...taste *ahem* of my two main characters from Uniform Encounters Book Two - Arresting Behaviour. The following excerpt takes place after homicide detective Jake and Native American artist Quinn let  their barriers down for the first time. So to speak.

He was in dangerous territory by staying alone with the man at his place. There couldn’t be any nonsense going on between them. Besides, Quinn hadn’t exactly invited him over, he had just barged his way in. Now he was feeling foolish. Had he overstepped his boundaries? It was just that he’d been so upset when Quinn had told him about the previous night—a knot of fear had settled in his stomach at the thought of that sick bastard being alone with Quinn, touching him, getting ready to do God-knows-what.

He would be completely professional. He was only there to keep watch. That was it.

It was going to be a long night.

He also needed to head to the station early in the morning to make sure that the whole poetry night sting was set, and brief the lieutenant on his progress. Plus, he had to follow up on the list Quinn had given him of previous partners. He couldn’t just remain glued to Quinn’s side, even if that did seem like a nice idea.

     Down boy.

He could feel a stirring in his jeans, and wasn’t sure all the resolve in the world would help him if he were to arrive at Quinn’s place with a hard-on. They got there ten minutes later, and Jake felt he had himself under control. It was a gorgeous starry night, and he marvelled at the display in the sky this far out from the city lights. That was one of his favourite things about the desert—everything seemed much purer out there.

He jumped out of his truck as Quinn languidly got out of his car then walked towards him. He had the briefest sensation the man was going to punch him or something, because his pace quickened and he moved with such intent. The light from the waning full moon illuminated Quinn’s graceful and sexy form as he drew nearer. Just as he got to him, Quinn reached out, grabbed the back of Jake’s head and clamped his mouth onto Jake’s lips.

His breath was startled right out of him, but all he could do was melt against Quinn’s muscled body, and reach up to twine his fingers in the man’s glorious mane of hair. This was exactly what he wasn’t supposed to be doing, but all reason and sanity had disappeared once Quinn had locked lips with his.

There was nothing polite or reserved in the kiss. It was raw and feral, and everything Jake had dreamt it would be. They used their hands everywhere on each other’s body, as Quinn continued to plunder Jake’s mouth. He felt himself being guided towards Quinn’s front door. At some point, Quinn managed to get it open—no lock as he’d said—and they stumbled inside, still tangled up with each other. Quinn kept pushing Jake farther in, and he began to feel the smallest stirrings of concern.

     It’s not right. I shouldn’t—not yet.

A little Upstairs Downstairs Anyone?

Thank you so much for joining me on my new guest post on the 14th of every month.

I am thrilled about my first release with Total E Bound and thought it would be fun to share a little about my inspiration for the story.

‘The Butler Did It’ is a salacious peek behind closed doors into a modern day Upstairs Downstairs. What appears stately on the outside — is scandalous on the inside, a world rife with indiscretions and sexual escapades.

In writing this story, I was intrigued by a Downton Abbey type tale, but set in contemporary times with more risqué elements. In this story about just what does go on after hours,  the boss isn’t a Lord Grantham-like aristocrat — she's stiletto heeled Vivienne Martin, the mega rich, high-powered fashion mogul, who is secure in her position and used to getting what she wants.

Work turns to play when she meets her new ultra sexy butler, ten years her junior, Clarkson Dale. Vi can barely get him out of his Ermenegildo Zegna suit fast enough.

Sometimes breaking the rules can be much more fun.

I hope you will enjoy the sizzling chemistry between Vi and Clarkson and the wry sense of humor they both have. Even her eager young chef gets in on the action when he helps Clarkson fulfill Vi’s deepest fantasies.

Check out my brand new Pinterest Board for the ‘Butler Did It’ and catch of glimpse into Vi’s seductive and secretive world perched high a top in her Miami penthouse.

Thank you for following!  I'd love to hear from you.

Best,
Kate

Like Hot Football Studs? Then Check out Out of Bounds!

There is something about a guy in a uniform. Football, soccer, baseball...racing...I'm there. When I was given a picture and a challenge from Stephanie Burke to write a story about a pair of football players, I was all about it. Here's what we came up with!

'Making the Pass' by Cheryl Dragon

On the field and in bed, Aiden and Jack are a perfect match. But when reality and pride interfere, will they be able to become a team
Aiden and Jack are both hot, gay men and play weekend football for the Griffons. Their similarities end there. Jack is blue collar and sees both the
attraction to Aiden and the divide between them. His career is delivering packages to fancy offices, including the one where Aiden works. On the field, they spark and win, but it takes a friend’s nudging before Jack turns the mutual macho posturing to passionate sex.
The physical connection between Aiden and Jack is easy, but they’ll need extra practice for the relationship part. Aiden tries to fit in with Jack’s friends, but when Aiden invites Jack to an office party, Jack refuses. Thankfully, the rift won’t stop the game from progressing, and neither man is a quitter!
Reader Advisory: This story contains a white collar geek, a blue collar stud, and rough sex from a locker room to a fancy office. Contains scenes of anal sex, sex toys, fisting and love between two consenting males.

'Crossing the Line' by Megan Slayer

Opposites can attract and sometimes come together with explosive results.

Ryan Malone punts for the Dragons and likes his life as an art restorer. Love isn’t in his game plan—unless Paul Toth is involved. They’ve known each other forever but have never taken the next step. Ryan’s not sure if Paul can accept his kinky needs. All it takes is one chance to see if sparks will fly.
Paul’s ready and willing to snag the sexy punter. He doesn’t care what team Ryan plays for as long as he’s got Ryan at night. But Ryan’s holding something back.
Can Paul unlock whatever he’s hiding before their burgeoning affair gets struck down by penalties?

'In the Red Zone' by Stephanie Burke

Can Dolton and Dean withstand the rain of opposition when they come together and cross the line of scrimmage?
Dolton is a strong black man, confident in what he wants in life and how to get it. The adjunct professor at Northeastern University has multiple degrees andhas travelled the world, learning from the people he observes. So why is it that blond hunk Dean Majors has his mind twisted, his cock hard, and his reactions all out of whack? Dolton knows he has to have the beautiful man, and will do anything to get the long-haired god in his bed and in his life.
Dean Majors is a construction worker by trade and the heart of Team Griffon. He is not closeted gay man, but he doesn’t advertise is orientation, either, something he is happy about when his old friend Robbie Keton joins the Griffons. Robbie’s negative attitude is something he has to distance himself from, especially when he realises he has a more than man-sized crush on the team’s uber-intelligent and exotic middle linebacker, Dolton Pride.
Together the two men are a potent fire, their lust burning hot. But can it withstand the bitter rain of opposition and threats that threaten their happiness when they cross the line of scrimmage?
Reader Advisory: This book contains mild bondage, light BDSM, football-related violence

When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.

When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite--on command.

Sleepwalking through heat

Last week was a combination of beautiful weather and excessive exercise. I spent four days in London almost continually walking (shopping, London Zoo, meeting people at far-flung tube stations) and then spent Saturday at the Waddington Air Show getting sunburnt and watching planes. So it was a pleasure on Sunday, when I finally had time to sit down and relax, to find the cover art for my Lust Bites piece Sleepwalker in my inbox.

Sleepwalker was originally planned for the Bayou Heat line back when I was still blogging for Red Lipstick Diaries. After a visit to a haunted hotel last year I relocated the plot from a plantation to the very British (and made-up) Madigan Hall and created the character of Tally Haslam, an aromatherapist and herbalist whose ghost-hunting weekend is turned upside down when she sleepwalks on the first night and finds herself outside the open bedroom door of an attractive stranger.

It’s the third story I will have out this year and I can’t wait!

Tally Haslam has too much to deal with. A herbalist and aromatherapist, her latest creation - an aphrodisiac potion - remains in unsaleable condition as she has nobody to test it with. And, much to her annoyance, she sleepwalks.

Hoping to get away from it all for a weekend, Tally travels to nearby Madigan Hall for their yearly Paranormal Evening - but on the first night she wakes up outside the bedroom of another guest: Kyle Hunter, who has chosen to pleasure himself with the door open. Tally escapes without being seen, but is unable to get Kyle out of her head - especially when she finds herself at the same table at him the following evening.

However, Tally's world is turned upside down when, at the paranormal dinner, she encounters the ghost of the Blue Lady, who seems determined not to leave her alone - and shows a disturbing penchant, when Tally sleepwalks again, for leading her astray...

Gay Scouts

I've been involved with scouting most of my life. My brother was a scout. My husband a scout. Both of my sons are Eagle Scouts. I was a Den mother for cub scouts, a committee member for Boy Scouts and a committee chairman, despite my dislike of camping. During this time, I've seen a lot of boys go through the program - five at the very least who were gay. Granted, the individual troop I was with was a fabulous troop. As long as the boys followed the guidelines to the best of their ability, we leaders didn't give a damn if the boy were gay, atheist, straight, Catholic, Jewish, Wiccan, Special Needs. You know why the parents were involved - because we cared about the individual boy. Recently, Boy Scouts of American changed a longstanding policy and no longer deny a boy entry into the organization based upon sexual orientation. They do stipulate, however, that any sexual activity is discouraged - a policy I support - since Boy Scouts is limited to boys under the age of 18.

Now, lots of people have argued both in favor of and against this change and many of these folks have very well thought out, reasonable arguments. Personally, I'm happy with this change. In my mind, a kid is a kid. Camp is fun for many of them (NOT me!!!). City kids get to experience mosquitoes and fishing. Small town kids get to practice tying knots. Country kids get to go star gazing. The titles of "city," "small town," and "country" fade away and they all simply become "KID" and, hopefully, "friend."

My opinion is just that - an opinion. Now, the new policy does not change the Scouts' position for gay leaders who are still banned, as are atheists and non U.S. citizens. But still, this is a step, I hope, in the right direction. Knowledge is power and the more knowledge we can give our kids, the more powerful and, with luck, tolerant, they will become. Here's hoping for a more tolerant, kinder future.

Frustration!

I can hardly remember what I did before Google. The Internet has made it so easy to research- well, everything. At least, that's what I thought until today. For my current story, I need to find a place in Paris to hold an awards ceremony. I Googled - banqueting, corporate events - a whole list of what I thought were relevant words plus the two important ones - Paris, France. One complete page of nothing to do with France. Why would I put France if I wanted to know about Las Vegas? When I finally found something that looked useful, it was all in French. I speak a bit but not enough. I bet I wasted an hour and came up with nothing. I wanted an old setting - not a new hotel and it had to be big enough to seat 500. I think I'm going to have to go with the writers' trick of - making it up.
Which is what I do with the sex despite my husband's protestations that I should experiment with him. Some things he just doesn't need to know!

And a reveal of a cover for my book out in November - a paranormal MF. Perfect Trouble.
